Should we start preparation for BCA/MCA from class 11th ? How ?

There isn't much to prepare for BCA/MCA while in class 11th. Just few basics thing to take in mind.

Anyhow, Try that you have Computer science in class 11. While all works fine, both computer science and maths are pretty useful. Maths not so much as computer science but will definitely be useful.

Science or other subjects aren't really needed that much in most times and if needed you can always learn the topic later on or take help from a knowledgeable person in that field.

Make sure to learn at least few programming languages and polish your skills on it. Do focus on algorithm part - That's important.

Try to learn different but revelant topics like Cloud Computing or Artificial Intelligence, Cryptography, Networking, etc. Do the one that will be best for you(Depending on which career you want to go for).

You can and actually should learn basics behind how actually computers and rest of stuff work. You will be taught about it in BCA/MCA for sure but it is good to be pre-aware. Once base is clear, You can connect logics easily.

It never hurts to know a little bit about hardware so yeah know the basic stuff at last(Just my opinion).

There are multiple ways to learn stuff. Online for free, books, local or branded teaching centers etc. Try for the most efficient manner that suits you. You just have to keep learning stuff after stuff. That's the key.

Also, You don't need to take pressure yet of anything seriously. There is time for that will come. But if you can, Try to decide which college to go for and similar questions. Probably 12th class mid will be good enough for that.

BCA makes you adept at the application level of computers whereas B.Tech makes you proficient at the 'technical' level (Software, Hardware, applications etc. ). All it depends upon your interest. While BCA gives students a good technology knowledge, it is advisable to complete your MCA to give yourself career wise push. After graduation, a student with a B.Tech degree has greater job opportunities than a student with a BCA. I would advise you to go for B.Tech for complete learning and better industry options.

B.Tech will be for 4 years and leads to immediate employability while BCA is three year course but requires MCA at the end of the day to make a real mark. Eligibility: If you have more than 60% in 10+2 then you are eligible for B.Tech, while god forbid if you are not able to secure 60%, and get above 50%, then BCA will be right choice. Now another major point to be noted is choosing a right university or college that provides you with complete learning. You need to look for Faculty, Labs, Infrastructure, Placements, Internships, Curriculum and practical learning approach in a university before choosing it for your graduation.

Few of the Leading Universities are :
1)IIT
2)NIIT
3)VIT, Chennai
4) BITS Pilani
5)LPU: Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab
6) SRM University Tamil Nadu
7) Thappar University, Punjab
8) Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai and few more.

Being an Alumni of Lovely Professional University, I can say LPU is one of the leading university for Engineering. Being an LPU Alumni, I can say that LPU has experienced faculty members, well-equipped labs, great infrastructure, excellent placements, complete training and placement assistance and lot more and that too at a very low fees and high scholarships. The university is equipped with the latest technologies delivering the most effective methods of teaching in its spacious campus. LPU provides an environment where students are enlightened through the extensive array of learning methodologies.

Highly qualified teaching staff combined with the best laboratories and modern technologies makes LPU the best place to pursue your degree.

I hope this helps. All the Best!

I saw many students who wants to do B.TECH after 12th.But for some reason or problem(it’s may be financial or something else) they are not able(for a reason) to do engineering.

So the last option available for this is MCA after BCA which equals to B.TECH.

BCA+MCA= as same as B.TECH

But it takes extra 2 years for completing both BCA & MCA ,so waste of 2 years

but if you got lateral entry then their is waste of 1 year. So, if anyone wants to do MCA after BCA then my suggestion is to do BTECH if possible, and if you are not able to do for your personal issues then MCA after BCA will be a BETTER option.

So, doing MCA from reputed colleges like NIT’s, BHU, JNU will be worth it because many MNC;s only hire MCA graduates.

You must have to do MCA because the value of BCA is not that much good, but going with MCA will be a better option, and also better for your future opportunities.

Edit: ”Only MCA from reputed colleges can be comparable to B.Tech from a reputed college. Both has their own values and terms.”

Hope! It will help you :-)
